URBANA — Bond has been set at $2,500 against a Champaign woman who allegedly pushed a security officer into a door frame after crashing her vehicle early Saturday morning.

Takeiya T. Cooper, 24, who listed an address in the 1100 block of North Champaign Street, faces preliminary charges of aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated battery, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, driving under the influence of alcohol and not having automobile insurance.

She is due back in court today.

According to an Urbana police report, Cooper allegedly crashed her car into the gates of an apartment complex in the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue, Urbana, at 2:52 a.m. Saturday.

Police said she was under the influence of alcohol and did not have insurance for her vehicle.

While Cooper was at a local hospital following the crash, the woman allegedly used her body to push a 60-year-old male security officer into a door frame.

Cooper was then taken to the county jail.
