Police investigating armed robbery at Champaign Walgreens

CHAMPAIGN — Police are looking for a man who robbed a Walgreens early Wednesday in the western part of the city.

Police said a man entered the drugstore at 1713 W. Springfield Ave., C, at 2:06 a.m. armed with a silver handgun and ordered an employee to empty the front cash registers.

After getting cash, he ran to the southeast, the same direction from which he came.

The robber is described as black; about 5 feet, 9 inches tall; 170 pounds; and wearing a light gray hoodie, dark gray pants and black gloves.
