Rosecrance plans merger with Iowa-based agency

ROCKFORD — Rosecrance, the mental- and behavioral-health treatment agency that acquired both the former Community Elements in Champaign and the former Prairie Center in Urbana, is looking to merge with Iowa-based Jackson Recovery Centers.

Rosecrance and Jackson announced their intention to merge next summer, a move Rosecrance said would expand behavioral-health services in the Midwest. Both agencies' boards signed a letter of intent for Jackson to merge into Rosecrance on or before July 1, 2019.

With the bulk of its services in Northern Illinois, Rosecrance expanded to the east central area of the state after adding the former Community Elements and Prairie Center.

Rosecrance said the addition of Sioux City-based Jackson Recovery Centers would boost its locations to nearly 60 in the Midwest, with total revenue of more than $100 million and more than 1,400 staff members.
