New to Normal: Snoop Dogg

NORMAL — Ready to "Drop It Like It's Hot," rap music fans?

You'll get your chance on Sept. 13 as rap superstar Snoop Dogg will be in concert at The Corn Crib.

The rapper, also known for such hits as "Nuthin' But A G Thang," "What's My Name?" and "Gin and Juice," has sold more than 23 million albums in the U.S. and 35 million albums worldwide.

Grammy Award-winning group Naughty By Nature will open the show. The group's hits include "O.P.P." and "Hip Hop Hooray."

"The ballpark is the perfect type of place to bring fans together for a late summer celebration of music," said Normal CornBelters owner and president Steve Malliet, who has had great success in recent years with country music events but insisted that a show like Snoop Dogg's would be highly anticipated and the first of its kind at The Corn Crib.

Tickets for Snoop's performance will go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. Friday.
