Danville district officials issue reminder of school start dates, times

DANVILLE — Danville schools officials are reminding students and parents the first day of school for high school freshmen is Aug. 14.

Freshman will attend from 7:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. that day.

The first day for all other pre-K-through-12th-grade students is Aug. 15. All students will follow a one-hour early dismissal schedule that day.

Starting Aug. 16, all students will attend the regular schedule. Hours are:

— Pre-K morning class: 8:45 to 11:25 a.m.

— Pre-K afternoon class: 12:35 to 3:15 p.m.

— K-4 students: 7:50 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

— 5-8 students: 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

— High school freshmen: 7:20 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.*

— Sophomores-seniors: 7:20 a.m. or 8:20 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.*

— Kenneth D. Bailey Academy students: 8:20 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* — The first hour, or Zero Hour, is required for freshman and optional for all other high school students.
