A reunion 130 years in the making

Organizers of Cissna Park's Old Settlers Reunion are marking the 130th celebration by bringing in country party band Dixie Crush for an 8 p.m. concert Saturday on the outdoor stage at the village park.

Apple dumplings in Atwood

This year's Apple Dumpling Festival, set for Saturday, features hometown traditional bluegrass and gospel-music group Mackville at 11 a.m. ahead of the 25th anniversary Apple Dumpling parade at 2 p.m.

'Love Me Tender' in Bellflower

Local favorite Logan Kirby will be picking up the mic to sing Elvis Presley's greatest hits at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bellflower Country Opry at the Bellflower Community Center, 202 Center St. Don't forget your poodle skirts!

Calculating your steps

Math meets running at the Pie Run, set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Champaign's West Side Park. Runners complete 3.14 miles (from the number pi) on a course that includes water and pie stops along the way. People are encouraged to wear pie- or pi-themed costumes for the event.

Bement singer hits big time

Samantha Baker Krepton will bring her country, oldies and rock-and-roll show to Bement for her annual performance at 7 p.m. Friday at the Bement Country Opry in the Monticello Community Building. The Monticello Lions will be serving an all-you-can-eat fish dinner starting at 5 p.m.

Pedal power in Mahomet

Who needs the Tour de France when you can bike the 47th annual Prairie Cycle Club Tour on Saturday starting at Lake of the Woods Pavilion? A portion of the proceeds go to the Kickapoo Rail Trail. You can choose among lengths of 10, 28, 48, 52, 76 and 100 miles.

Point, Illinois!

Saturday is your first chance to see Fighting Illini volleyball in action at Orange & Blue Scrimmage, set for 7 p.m. at historic Huff Hall.

Goose on the loose

Fans of Rich "Goose" Geese and fellow band members Ashley Ireland, Matt Stewart and Jamie Ryan — known collectively as Champaign Freight — will want to see them sing country, rock and pop tunes at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Taste of Champaign-Urbana at West Side Park.

An ocean adventure in Tuscola

Disney's animated hit "Moana" will be shown free at dusk Friday in the village's downtown.

A root canal you'll want to experience

Lincoln Park in Danville is the place to hear eight-piece band Doc Ashton and the Root Canals perform jazz, blues and pop rock, starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
