Rep. Davis challenger Londrigan to host town hall Thursday on UI campus

URBANA — Democratic candidate for Congress Betsy Dirksen Londrigan announced on Sunday she will hold a town hall event this week on the University of Illinois campus.

The 14-county series began in July and has included Macoupin, Greene, DeWitt, Christian, Macon, Calhoun, Piatt, Jersey and Montgomery counties so far.

The latest event is set for Thursday in Room 2079 of the Natural History Building at the University of Illinois, 1301 W. Green St., Urbana.

Following a meet-and-greet from 6 to 6:30 p.m., she will hold the town hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Her topics will be public education and the affordability of higher education.

"I have put over 50,000 miles on my car during this campaign," Dirksen Londrigan said on Sunday. "Traveling around the 13th District and speaking with hardworking people about the issues they care about has been an honor. That's the kind of representative I intend to be: one who shows up, listens to people and fights for them in Washington."
