Crime Stoppers | Man sought in holdup of gas station customer

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign County Crime Stoppers needs help finding a man who robbed a customer of a gas station at gunpoint.

On Friday, Aug. 24, at 10:53 p.m., police were sent to the Circle K, 1295 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, for an armed robbery.

A woman told officers she was returning to her vehicle when a man armed with a handgun approached and demanded cash from her, then ran away to the north.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5 feet to 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 150 pounds, with a mustache and possibly a small goatee. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing.
