Bismarck-Henning student in custody after alleged 'terroristic threat'

BISMARCK — A 13-year-old male student is in custody for allegedly making a "terroristic threat" via text message on Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Mike Hartshorn of the Vermilion County Sheriff's Office said the teen was arrested on a preliminary charge of disorderly conduct. The case is now being referred to the state's attorney's office.

Hartshorn would not comment on the nature of the threat which was directed to Bismarck-Henning High School.

"He is not a student in the Bismarck-Henning school district," Hartshorn said.

"We worked with the Bismarck-Henning school district to make sure necessary precautions were taken to ensure students' safety."
