Election 2019: The choices are yours

Election 2019: The choices are yours

Exactly one year from today, Land of Lincolners will go to the polls to decide who should represent the two major parties in the 2020 presidential election.

But first, there's another election to attend to.

Unlike the last one or the next one, the ballots you see when you step into the voting booth two weeks and two days from now won't have any Rs or Ds next to candidates' names. (Unless you live in Monticello's fourth ward — the only area race where voters will choose between a stated Republican, Democrat and independent).

In every other race in every other area community on the April 2 ballot, the jobs up for vote this time around are considered nonpartisan. So, for those of you who haven't made it to the candidate forums, researched the field or cast an early vote, News-Gazette Media is here to help educate you about who's running and what they stand for.

Now live at news-gazette.com/election: our Election '19 online hub, packed with 32 Q&As with candidates for every contested race in Champaign-Urbana, as well as the four Danville residents vying for the title of mayor.

We'll be adding to the site every day between now and April 2.
