Top of the Morning, March 22, 2019

Greetings from Wells Fargo Arena. While some of you are spending spring break in Europe, my vacation choice is Des Moines, Iowa.

Since 2008, my son Hank and I have been attending different NCAA tournament sites. This year, we got to see Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota in Thursday's first round. We will stick around for Saturday's second round with a day in between to explore central Iowa.

You ought to try it. Tickets are reasonably priced. The food choices are endless. And there are plenty of hotel options.

Where else have we gone? Here's the list: 2008 Omaha, Neb.; 2009 Indianapolis; 2010 Milwaukee; 2011 Chicago; 2012 Nashville, Tenn.; 2013 Kansas City, Mo.; 2014 St. Louis; 2015 Omaha; 2016 St. Louis; 2017 Indianapolis; 2018 Detroit.

On to my weekend recommendations:

TODAY: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 10:30 p.m., NBC

Another stellar week for Fallon, who earlier welcomed Jordan Peele, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kobe Bryant. Tonight's guests include actor Norman Reedus and comedian Abbi Jacobson.

SATURDAY, "Funny Women of a Certain Age," 8 p.m., Showtime

Fran Drescher leads a group of standup comedians.

SUNDAY, "Into the Badlands," 9 p.m., AMC

It's the debut episode of the third and final season. The series stars Daniel Wu and Orla Brady.
