Champaign man gets probation in 2018 break-in at Urbana home

URBANA — A Champaign man who admitted his role in a break-in at a home in Urbana more than a year ago has been sentenced to 30 months of probation.

Quentin Larry, 27, whose last known address was in the 1500 block of Hedge Road, pleaded guilty to burglary in an April 19, 2018, incident at a home in the 1200 block of West Church Street. In return for his guilty plea, a more-serious charge of residential burglary was dismissed.

Police reports indicated the victim came home and found a television, an electronic gaming system, a pistol and cash missing from the home, which appeared to have been entered through a bedroom window.

Latent fingerprints lifted from the window sill matched Larry's.

In return for his plea in the burglary case, another case alleging that he was driving under suspension and had cannabis intended for sale in Urbana in May 2018 was dismissed.

As part of his probation, Larry was ordered to get a substance-abuse evaluation and spend 25 days in jail, which he had already done.
