— The Penfield/Gifford American Legion Post 1153 and Auxiliary Unit 1153: Ceremonies, 12:30 p.m. at Penfield Veterans Memorial on the I&I grounds, Penfield; 1 p.m. at Wells Cemetery, Penfield; and 1:30 p.m. at Huls Cemetery, Gifford.

—The Veteran's Assistance Commission of Champaign County (VAC): Ceremony, 3 p.m. at the Champaign County Veterans Memorial in front of the Champaign County Court House, downtown Urbana.


— American Legion Post 770, Atwood: Ceremony, 10:30 a.m. at Mackville Cemetery. Speaker and reading of the veteran's roster for the Mackville and Lake Fort Cemeteries.


— American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432, Buckley: Services at 9:30 a.m. at the Lisk Cemetery, rural Thawville; and 10:30 a.m. at Woodland/St. John's Cemetery. Immediately following the 10:30 services, the American Legion Auxiliary of Buckley will serve refreshments at the Legion post, 313 S. Walnut St., Buckley. In case of rain, services will also be held at the Legion post.

Cerro Gordo

— American Legion Post 117 and Auxiliary, Cerro Gordo: Services at 8 a.m. at Ritchie Cemetery; 8:30 a.m. at Cross; 9 a.m. at West Frantz; 9:30 a.m. at Peck; 10 a.m. at East Frantz; 11 a.m. at La Place; and 11:30 a.m. at Cerro Gordo.


— Cisco American Legion and the Boy Scouts: Services, 11 a.m. at Croninger Cemetery, then at approximately 11:30 a.m. at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. After the services, a potluck meal at the Cisco Legion Hall.

Cissna Park

— American Legion Post 527, Cissna Park: Services, 9 a.m. at the village park. After the service, the American Legion Auxiliary will be serving coffee and donuts at the legion home.


— Service, 10 a.m. at Civil War Soldiers' Plot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. In case of rain, at First Christian Church, 100 S. Jackson St., Clinton. Meal served at 11:30 a.m. at American Legion Post No. 103, 219 N. Elizabeth St., Clinton.


— American Legion Post 210, Danville: Ceremony, 9:15 a.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville. Ladies Auxiliary presentation at the Lagoon, 10 a.m. at Danville National Cemetery, followed by a program, 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery.


— DeLand American Legion Post 102: Services, 11 a.m. at Goose Creek Township Cemetery. In case of rain, at the post home. Lunch served at noon by DeLand Sons of the American Legion. There is a cost for the lunch.

Farmer City

— City of Farmer City: Observance, 9 a.m. at Circle Park, then parade to the City Cemetery for services.


— American Legion Post 203, Georgetown: Service, 11 a.m. at Georgetown Cemetery. Lunch following in the Legion Hall.

Gibson City/Elliott

— Gibson City's parade: 10 a.m., kicks off in front of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley school district's unit office building on Sangamon Avenue, then south on Sangamon Avenue and continues to Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City.

— American Legion Post 568, Gibson City: Services, 10:30 a.m. at Drummer Creek Veterans Memorial, Gibson City; followed by services around 11:30 or 11:45 a.m. at Elliott Cemetery, Elliott. In the case of inclement weather, services will be held at the Legion post, 203 N. Sangamon Ave., Gibson City.


— American Legion Post No. 290, Homer: Ceremony, 11 a.m. at Homer G.A.R. Cemetery. Followed by the American Legion Auxiliary's annual smorgasbord at the Jack Ellis Community Center in Homer Village Hall, 500 E. Second St.; free-will offering.


— American Legion Post No. 384, Hoopeston: Program, 10:30 a.m. at Floral Hill Cemetery (in case of bad weather listen to WHPO for location change to Civic Center in McFerren Park). Free food following service at VFW, 428 W. Orange St.


— American Legion Post 503, Loda: Ceremony, 9 a.m. at Pine Ridge Cemetery, near Loda's north edge.


— American Legion Post 287, Ludlow: Service, 9:30 a.m. at the Community Center. The Rev. Ken Crawford, formerly of Rantoul First Baptist Church, will be the speaker.


— American Legion Post 1015, Mahomet: Program, 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. Desserts to follow at the American Legion Hall.


— Service, 10 a.m. at the Melvin Cemetery, Melvin. Refreshments served at Melvin Community Hall, Main Street, after the service. In the event of rain, the service will be held in the Melvin Community Hall.


— Services, 10 a.m. at the Monticello Township Cemetery flag pole.


— American Legion Prairie Post 150, Paxton: Observance, 11 a.m. at Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Ceremony follows the Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. when it leaves PBL Eastlawn School, 341 E. Center St., and heads toward the cemetery.

Penfield, Gifford area

— Penfield/Gifford American Legion Post 1153 and Auxiliary Unit 1153: Services, 10:45 a.m. at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Penfield, immediately after the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church; and at noon at the veteran's memorial in Werner Roessler Memorial Park, Gifford.


— Philo American Legion Post 1171: Services, 9:30 a.m. at Philo Veterans Monument, downtown Philo, followed by ceremonies — 10 a.m. at St. Josephs Cemetery, also known as the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, located by the Immaculate Conception Church, Bongard; 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 1 mile east of Philo; and 11 a.m. at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo.

Piper City

— American Legion Post 588, Piper City: Service, 9 a.m. on the bandstand on Peoria Street, downtown Piper City. Immediately after the service, additional services by the post at Calvary Catholic Cemetery and Brenton Cemetery in rural Piper City.


— Cissna Park American Legion's drill team: Service, 10 a.m. at Rankin Cemetery.


— Rantoul American Legion Post 287, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6750, and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus: Two services, a ceremony, 9 a.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, east of Ranoul; and ceremony, 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, U.S. 45 north of Rantoul.


— Wagner-Davis American Legion Post, Roberts: Service, 9 a.m. at the Roberts Gym. Coffee and rolls will be served afterward by the legion post's auxiliary.


— American Legion Post 1492, Savoy: Wreath laying ceremony, 11 a.m. at the Savoy Veteran's Memorial, in front of the Robert C. McCleary Municipal Center, 611 N. Dunlap.


— Martin H. Suntken American Legion Post 244, Sibley: Services, 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Sibley.


— Sidney American Legion Post 433: Ceremony, 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney.


— American Legion Post 700, Thawville: Service around 11:30 a.m at Ridgeland Township Cemetery, located about a mile east of Thawville. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at the legion post on Main Street.


— Westville American Legion Post 5: Service, 11 a.m. at Zamberletti Park. There will be snacks at the legion hall afterward.

May 30

Ridge Farm

— Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge and the Crown Hill Cemetery Board: Service, 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery.

June 2


— Rucker Chapel church and cemetery: Annual observance, 2 p.m. at Rucker Chapel, 17533 Ruckers Chapel Road, Solomon, in Wilson Township, DeWitt County (rural Wapella). Potluck at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Farmer City American Legion Post No. 55 conducts military rites, 3 p.m. at Rucker Chapel Cemetery.
