MTD sets meetings May 30, June 6 for public input on service, route changes

URBANA — The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District plans to hold two meetings to hear comments from the public about its service and share information about planned route changes.

The first meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 30 in the city council chambers at the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine St.

The other meeting will be from 4 to 6 p.m. June 6 at the Illinois Terminal, 45 E. University Ave., C.

The MTD doesn't plan to make formal presentations at these meetings, so the public can drop by at any time during both sessions to comment or ask questions.

The MTD holds public meetings each spring to hear from the public in advance of a new service year beginning Aug. 11.

Comments will be collected on service improvements, with the final version of changes to be published on the MTD website, social media and in a newly updated maps-and-schedules book.

Comments can also be submitted in writing to the agency, attention Managing Director Karl Gnadt, 1101 E. University Ave., Urbana, IL 61802.
