In 1919, The First National Bank of Thomasboro was sold by E. G. Coon to what would become a stock company. Stockholders would be farmers and businessmen from the Thomasboro area.

In 1969, nearly 200 persons signed petitions calling for an investigation of the policies, practices and conditions at the Champaign County Jail following the death of inmate John Cushingberry on May 25.

In 2004, the Danville City Council discussed whether to bring Vermilion County's fifth-largest employer into the Danville-Titon enterprise zone. The solution would expand the enterprise zone to include CCL Custom Manufacturing at 1 W. Hegeler Lane in rural Danville. The firm provided outsourcing solutions for many well-known consumer goods marketers of personal care, household, food and automotive products.
