CHAMPAIGN – Bruce C. Creamer, age 66, of Champaign died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. Pastor Chuck Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Champaign. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 5520. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Creamer was born Oct. 27, 1941, in Champaign, a son of Carl Moore and Eunice Cunningham Creamer. He was an only child and a lifelong resident of Champaign. He is survived by four cousins, James Smith of Urbana, Elizabeth Moulten of Stroudsburg, Pa., Deborah Avery of Champaign and David Cunningham of Jupiter, Fla. From 1964 to 1967, Mr. Creamer served as training officer in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Dover AFB, Del., and Lackland AFB, Texas. Mr. Creamer received a bachelor of science and a master of science in library science degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He was employed at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall and the University of Illinois library, and he taught for and coordinated the University of Illinois Motorcycle Rider Program from 1977 until his retirement in 1993. After his retirement, Mr. Creamer was involved with preservation efforts at the Orpheum Theater. He served on the board trustees of the Orpheum Children's Science Museum, the Preservation and Conservation Association and the Champaign County Historical Museum. He was a life member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association, the Air Force Association and the Reserve Officers Association. He was also a member of the University of Illinois Presidents Council, the Civil Air Patrol and Loyal Order of the Moose. Memorial contributions may be made to the Orpheum Children's Science Museum, Champaign; or the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum, Rantoul.
