MONTICELLO – Ruth E. Hilterbrand, 93, of Monticello, formerly of Coos Bay, Ore., passed away at 10:30 a.m., Monday (March 3, 2008) at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Bement Township Cemetery, with the Rev. Arthur Woolley officiating. There will be no visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, is handling the arrangements.

Ruth was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Bement, the daughter of William and Josa (McKenny) Gundy. She married Harlie Hilterbrand on Sept. 27, 1965, in Monmouth, Ore. He passed away Feb. 14, 1985.

Surviving are her son, Allen Schwartz of Ivesdale; daughters, Lenna Blacker of Monticello and Jacquline Beecher of Coos Bay, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter.

Ruth was a homemaker.
