 MELBOURNE, Australia – Ginger Pringle, formerly of Tolono, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She was surrounded by her children and fought a courageous battle against breast cancer. Cremation and a memorial service took place in Australia. Ginger was born Feb. 1, 1944, in Decatur, the daughter of Ausbun (Gauze) Houser and Edith Rogers. After graduating from Monticello High School, she became a licensed beautician. She married the love of her life, Samuel L. Pringle on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1964. He passed away on Feb. 1, 2004. She is survived by her children, daughter, Tammy Pringle-Petesic and son-in-law, Paul of Rockford, son, Jeffrey Pringle of Freeport, son, John Ted Pringle and daughter-in-law, Sue of Melbourne, Australia, and her grandchildren, Rachael, Damien, Kane, Tyler and Chae, all of Melbourne, Australia. She is also survived by her mother, Edith of Golconda; her brother, John and sister-in-law, Maxine, also of Golconda; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam, her father, Ausbun and her brother, Frank Houser. Ginger was very creative. She made beautiful quilts, drawings and paintings. Her family and friends were most important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
