MANSFIELD – Michael R. Dodge, 51, of rural Mansfield passed away at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main St., Farmer City, Ill., with the Rev. L K. Braunig officiating.

Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael Dodge Educational Fund for his children, Jacob and Josie Dodge, in care of First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 579, Mansfield, IL 61854.

Michael was born July 1, 1957, in Champaign, Ill., a son of Frank and Martha M. Roy Dodge.

He married Donna Lyons ib Oct. 30, 1976, and their children are Melissa (Kevin) Place of Fisher, Ill., Michael S. (Lauren) Dodge of Champaign, Ill., and Miranda Dodge of Coraopolis, Pa.

He later married Joyce A. Dowell on June 17, 1995, in Decatur, Ill. She survives with their children, Jacob and Josie Dodge of rural Mansfield, Ill.

Also surviving are his mother, Martha Dodge of Mahomet, Ill.; three grandchildren, Austin Winemiller, Avery Place and Anna Claire Place; five brothers, Steven (Nancy) Dodge of

Mansfield, Ill., Daniel Dodge of Mahomet, Ill., Randy Dodge of Medford, Ore., Timothy (Barb) Dodge of Delaware, Ohio, and James (Melissa) Dodge of Anderson, Ind.; four sisters, Julie (Denny) Bradley of Sadorus, Ill., Joni (Mike) Jones of Champaign, Ill., Tamara Dodge of Oakwood, Ill., and Aimee (Ron) Propp of Pontiac, Ill.; and 25 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Michael was a seed technician at Monsanto Seed in Farmer City, Ill. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting and was an avid sports fan.
