Voters should back schools building plan
Champaign Unit 4 schools are at a crossroads. The school board has agreed in the civil rights case consent decree to adding elementary seats north of University Avenue. This can be done either by continuing to make additions to existing schools or by building new schools where the district is growing.
Speaking as one school board member, I support the second direction because it would also give us the opportunity to upgrade our current schools to meet the learning needs of children attending our schools today.
