Smoking ban would be good for business
I take issue with Paul Wirth, owner of the Iron Post bar, who was quoted in The News-Gazette recently to the effect that most of the 500 people who visited his bar during a recent three-day period smoke.
I was in attendance at the Iron Post one evening, a Saturday night, with the three-band feature, and the place was packed, standing-room only. Even though two ceiling fans were in motion, air flow was poor and cigarette smoke easily drifted throughout the place. I estimate that upwards of 150 people filled Iron Post that night, certainly no less than 125, and by observation, only about a dozen people were actively smoking.
