Ask favorite eateries to go smoke-free

The constant drumbeat for a smoking ban in Champaign-Urbana reeks of laziness. One of the greatest things our country allows for is to influence businesses directly instead of forcing a political solution every time there is a dispute.

If you want your favorite restaurant to be smoke-free, simply talk to the restaurant. If you and a hundred like-minded people do so, you'd be surprised how soon the profit motive can be used to get businesses to do what you want.
