Keep Emil Jones out of the U.S. Senate

Thursday November 20, 2008

Ethics in Illinois government is about to take another hit. It has been reported in the newspaper and on television news that Gov. Rod Blagojevich is considering the appointment of Emil Jones to Barack Obama's Senate seat. The only person who even comes close to Blagojevich in his contempt for the good of Illinois and its people is Emil Jones. Jones has treated Illinois and its resources as his own kingdom and used his position for his own gain, politically and personally, as has Blagojevich.

I ask President-elect Obama to use any and all influence to prevent the appointment of Jones to the Senate. Illinois needs a senator in Washington with the welfare of Illinois and its people as his priority.
