Chief's appearance hardly a major story
On a weekend when there were numerous significant issues in the news, including President-Elect Obama's plans for his new administration, the negotiations for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, the economic summit in Washington, D.C., and the devastating fires in California, I found it hard to understand why last Sunday's News-Gazette had as its headline article a lengthy story about the Chief's appearance at the Assembly Hall. In light of all that's going in our nation and the world, was this really the most important story?
