Polite motorist got unexpected reward
Just when I had convinced myself of the sad decline of good manners and the selfishness of our society, along came a reminder that all is not lost. A chance moment at a Dunkin Donuts revived my faith.
As another car and I were coming in from different directions for the drive-through, we both stopped and waved each other on, but I insisted with another wave and a smile for the other to proceed. When I reached the window and asked what I owed, the young worker informed me that the person ahead of me had paid for my order. Honestly, I could not believe it. Nothing like that ever happens to me.
