Volunteer leaf-rakers did a wonderful job

Sunday November 23, 2008

I would like to sincerely thank members of the Champaign Centennial High School Key Club for taking time during a weekend earlier this month to rake leaves in our neighborhood. They came to the door, unsolicited, and refused to take any money or refreshments for their work.

In these times when we hear such troubling reports about the conduct of teenagers, and living in an area close to the high school where we have had some problems with students littering and loitering, it was such a pleasure to see these young people volunteering to help. And they did a great job.
