Obama made costly trip for Olympics
It's all over but the shouting; Brazil is the venue for the next Olympics and they are celebrating big time in Rio.
The president ought to be terribly embarrassed about going to Denmark to promote a Chicago site, but he probably isn't. He most likely thought that his charm and charisma would swing the vote in Chicago's favor.
Of course he took Air Force One to get there – an eight-hour trip one way.
Taxpayers foot the bill for his little foray into Olympic politics at a rough cost of almost $1 million, possibly more. Add this to the many trips he's already made around the world, and we're talking real money. Did the missus go on that flight? Or did we pay for an additional airplane ride?
Funniest thing; Chicago didn't even survive the first round of voting.
