And the award goes to Chad Pitcher, one of the owners of Pia's Sports Bar, who appeared on WCIA News' March 29 piece on the ban on public smoking. The story was pathetic.
I am a regular at Pia's, and after the news story ran I went to see how slow it was. There were 40-plus people there drinking and having fun, just as is the case on most evenings and at peak times. No one complained about the smoking ban, and they haven't since the weather turned warm. The piece was filmed after 7 p.m., an off peak time for most places, so it made the bar look empty.
