Businesses need to adapt to change

In the 1970s, I was a retail florist in Bloomington-Normal. In the early part of the decade, we were worried because grocery stores were getting into the fresh flower business.
Later in the decade, hospital gift shops started selling floral arrangements they purchased from wholesalers. Again, we thought we would lose business.
