Prep star's dad gets way too much ink

I do not want to take anything away from Central High School basketball player Verdell Jones III, but why in every article in The News-Gazette is his father mentioned? If you go back towards almost every article written about him and even for the team as it advanced through the state tournament, Jones' father, Verdell Jones Jr., has been mentioned in some way, shape or form.
When I read an article about a prep standout basketball player, I do not want to hear about his father reliving his own glory days. When Indiana suits up against Illinois next year, will the front page be a picture of Verdell Jones Jr.?
