Admissions scandal shows skewed values

Corruption in the university's admissions process reveals a skewed sense of priorities and values within the institution. While not all administrators are involved, it remains true that at the highest levels internal and external political considerations too often trump commitment to educational excellence, demonstrate a cynical contempt for students and programs, and do great damage to the university.
A culture marked by such indifference to quality of programs must have consequences within the university as a whole, it seems to me.
