Group starts 19th year of building wheelchair ramps
DANVILLE -- The Vermilion County Handicapped Association has launched its 19th year of building wheelchair ramps for qualified residents in the county.
The organization will build ramps on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, weather permitting, from now through October.
The organization also is looking for volunteers and members. Annual dues are $10 for singles, and $15 for families. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 728, 8 Pine St., Danville.
The association is an all volunteer, tax deductible nonprofit organization. Donations can be sent to VCHA, P.O. Box 1151 Danville, IL, 61834. People can also sponsor a ramp by writing to the address or by calling 662-6331.
