Empty Arms plans annual remembrance

CHAMPAIGN — Empty Arms, a grief support network for families that have experienced the loss of an infant, will hold its annual remembrance ceremony Oct. 15.

The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at Windsor Road Christian Church, 2501 W. Windsor Road, C.

The ceremony is intended to help family members keep the memory of their lost children alive. Each child's name will be displayed, and any parent wishing to include a child's name and picture in a memorial video can email them to Becky Ames, at bames@giftofhope.org.

The local support network was founded by Ames and another local mom, Meghan Drewes, both of whom have experienced infant loss.

Empty Arms strives to help other parents who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
