Black's career to be saluted with open house

DANVILLE -- The Vermilion County Museum Society will celebrate the career and retirement of Bill Black with an open house at the Vermilion County Museum from 1:30 to 4 p.m. April 17 at the museum, 116 N. Gilbert St.

The museum will have an exhibit of photographs and awards highlighting Black's many years of service on display.

There will be a short program at 2 p.m. and light refreshments served.

Parking is available at several neighboring businesses including the First Midwest Bank parking lot, the empty lots adjacent to the bank's drive-up facility, at Big Lots, the Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society, First Presbyterian Church and in front of the Catholic Charities building.

The parking lot next to the museum center on Lafayette Street is reserved for handicapped parking.
