Ludlow board OKs work on street flooding
LUDLOW — The village will spend money to solve a street flooding problem on North Orange Street.
Murle Roy, owner of Murle Roy Construction in Paxton, addressed the board Monday about the excess water flow on the street. Roy was paid $2,350 by the village to investigate the problem.
Roy said the village could pay an additional $500 to have the street's water tile plugged up as a "temporary solution" or $4,500 to put in a new catch basin, which would catch the excess water.
The basin "would be the right way" of solving the problem, Roy said.
"We can sit here and talk about how the (village water fund) is going to be depleted or we can just press forward," said Mayor Pete Walker. The street flooding "needs to be fixed."
The board will pay Murle Roy Construction a total of $6,350 for the street work. The village's annual water funds currently total $19,746 before the street project.
