Monticello council votes to use eminent domain

MONTICELLO – After more than 10 years of negotiations, the Monticello City Council had nothing to say before unanimously voting Monday to use eminent domain to acquire two parcels of land from Heartland Pathways, a local nature preservation and hiking trail organization.

The council's move helps pave the way for street access to the Appletree subdivision on one of the parcels.
