Some officials have reservations about Urban League plan
CHAMPAIGN – Two city officials say that while they appreciate the Urban League of Champaign County's value to the community, they would have a hard time essentially giving the agency the former Lone Star Lodge building at 208 N. First St.
The city asked for requests for proposals for the purchase of the building earlier this year and received six responses. The Urban League proposed buying the building for $1, moving its offices there from its current headquarters at Springfield Avenue and Neil Street, and opening a small business incubator at the site in September.
