Voters in six area counties to decide on retaining judges
Voters in Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Macon, Moultrie and Piatt counties can say if they want judges in two of those counties to keep working.
Circuit judges in Illinois run for election either in their home county or all the counties of their respective circuit. Once elected, they run for retention every six years. They currently earn $169,555 a year.
