Nate Allen, outgoing University of Illinois student trustee, sits at his office window in the Illini Union, overlooking the UI Quad, in Urbana last week. Allen will end his term as student trustee in June.

Nate Allen came into his new position last summer with two goals: establish a yearlong tuition advisory board and begin discussions for a new basketball stadium with more student section seats closer to the court. Both were accomplished almost in spite of another matter that leapfrogged the other two issues.

"I spent half an hour a day talking about the Chief. It saddens me because tuition is what I care about," said Allen of Champaign, who will end his term as the University of Illinois-Urbana campus student trustee in June.
