Proposed truce hits snag

SAVOY – A proposed agreement between Savoy and the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District appears to be in jeopardy in the wake of comments by the district's chairman and one of its board members.

The Savoy Village Board had voted on Sept. 7 to direct village attorney Paul Hendren to draw up the proposed agreement. The agreement came during last-minute negotiations between village and district leaders over annexation of Savoy property into the transit district.
