Candidate faced with '90 arrest warrant

URBANA – Brash statements that an Illinois gubernatorial candidate made to a judge in a Champaign County criminal case more than 30 years ago are still haunting him.

A search of court files shows that there is a warrant outstanding for the arrest of Anthony R. Martin-Trigona, who now goes by the name of Andy Martin, for direct criminal contempt of court. It was issued in 1990 by a now-retired judge who was reviewing a Martin-Trigona case that started in 1972, when he allegedly threatened some men in Champaign during an attempted eviction.
