Homing in on hearing problems

Pat Jeng, left, president of Mimosa Acoustics, and her husband Jont Allen, chief technical officer for Mimosa Acoustics and associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois, recently gained FDA approval for the Middle Ear Power Analyzer. The analyzer can be used in assisting the diagnosis of problems of the middle ear.

CHAMPAIGN – Mimosa Acoustics has received FDA approval to market a device that can identify hearing problems related to the middle ear.

But ironically, one of its greatest benefits may be ruling out severe hearing problems in newborn babies.
