UI seniors try to create campuswide bike rental program

University of Illinois students Alex Herder, left, and Kannan Puthuval are starting a bicycle shop co-op in downtown Urbana, and they also want to launch a campuswide bike rental program.
There's just something about riding a bike that you don't get from driving a car.
"It's transportation that runs totally on my own power," explained University of Illinois senior Kannan Puthuval. "I ride because it sets me free."
