EIU student's drawings of fallen soldiers on display at Illini Union

Philip Martini, union representative for food services and building services at the University of Illinois, SEIU Local 73, looks at the drawing of his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Philip J. Martini. The 24-year-old was killed April 8 while serving in Iraq.
URBANA – When an Eastern Illinois University student heard that a soldier from his hometown had been killed in Iraq, he sat down and made a pencil sketch of the soldier and presented it to the man's family.
And when he saw how profoundly touched the family was by the gesture, he drew another one. And another. And another.
