URBANA – When an Eastern Illinois University student heard that a soldier from his hometown had been killed in Iraq, he sat down and made a pencil sketch of the soldier and presented it to the man's family.
And when he saw how profoundly touched the family was by the gesture, he drew another one. And another. And another.
