SPRINGFIELD – A deal reached in the wee hours this morning will allow new Amtrak service through Champaign to start Monday as scheduled.
"The impasse has been broken, and the trains are going to roll," U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., announced at a 9:15 a.m. news conference in the Springfield Amtrak station.
