DANVILLE – Cleaner engines mean fewer jobs at ThyssenKrupp's machining division in Danville, where 65 employees were laid off Tuesday as a result of more stringent environmental protection standards for heavy-duty trucks.
The employees were notified Tuesday at the non-union machining facility at 1303 E. Voorhees St. in Danville. Before the layoffs, the plant employed 230 workers.
