Speakers rip law up for reauthorization

CHAMPAIGN – The standards set by No Child Left Behind have left many in the area wanting to leave that federal legislation behind.

"Our teachers are tired of hearing that public education doesn't work," said Tracy Luchik, head of the Urbana Education Association. "Our students are improving ... but we're not looking at improvement. We're looking at a magic number."
