Mahomet rejects tax hike for new library

MAHOMET – Leaders of the Mahomet Public Library said they will likely go back to the voters again in 2008 after residents rejected a proposal to raise taxes to pay for a new library building by 164 votes.

District residents voted 1,548 to 1,384 against a ballot question for a library tax hike.
