Two incumbents voted off Mahomet school board

MAHOMET – A slate of four candidates running for four seats on the Mahomet-Seymour school board swept to victory Tuesday, defeating two incumbents, including the current board president.

Incumbent Terry Greene, who was appointed to his seat two years ago, led the slate to victory in the hotly contested election, earning 36.61 percent of the votes. Greene and Vicki Niswander, who earned 35.56 percent of the vote, won both in-town seats, defeating current board President Mark Gerst, who earned 27.66 percent.
