SPRINGFIELD – Legislation to save rural residents hundreds of dollars in septic system costs won approval from the Illinois House on Wednesday, moving on to the Senate for further debate.

HB613 would limit the types of surface discharging septic systems that would have to get a new permit the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is proposing.
